I suppose if you live in the triangle of Phoenix, Atlanta, Miami, it may be tolerable to go on one of the sale tour dates.

There's lot of people that find their best opportunity to travel is in the summer, so it's nice to be given extra incentive. Our first RS tour was in August a decade ago. No discount given. Salzburg was hot but otherwise lovely and we had a great tour.
I did the RS 1-week Paris tour in August several years ago when we lived near Seattle. It was discounted for that week, and I had a wonderful time! In fact, that was my first solo vacation in Europe, so it was a wonderful springboard for future solo travel. My husband wanted to spend his vacation portion to redo the slope of our front yard, so we were both happy! I came back home & helped him lay sod on the new slope. : )
We took the Best of Eastern France tour starting in mid August in 2019 because of a $500 discount offered in July. Never planned for a tour that fast! And it’s one of our most favorite tours. Definitely not too hot but there were changes due to it being August when some places were closed for European vacations.
