My wife and I will be going on the 9 day Italy tour in May and we wanted to know if we need to purchase a Firenza Card for Florence and a Roma Card for Rome or are these included in the price of the trip?
You do not need these cards because the tour itself includes admission to many places, and transportation between them.
Furthermore, even if you were going on your own and paying for admissions and transportation yourself, getting your money's worth from these cards is difficult (lots of threads on this, particularly the Roma Card). So, in your limited free time, you'll do much better just paying a la carte for admissions and transit.
The only "biggie" that's not included on your tour that does need advance reservations is the Galleria Borghese in Rome. If you do want to see that, you MUST book in advance (numbers are strictly controlled). Otherwise, the ones people worry about long lines and advance tickets - Vatican Museums, Colosseum, Uffizi, Accademia - are all included in your tour.
Thanks! That answers my question.
