Anyone on here on the Paris & HOFrance April 24th?

Just wondering if anyone signed up for this tour is reading or lurking on the forum. We are very excited! 3 days in Paris before the tour begins. We leave the day the tour ends. I’m in happy planning mode!

Hey, Tammy: you're in for a great tour. We did this tour this May, and really enjoyed it. Here's a link to my trip report. https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/tours/tour-report-paris-and-the-heart-of-france

Edit to add: Tammy, I just reread my trip report, and saw that you had commented on it at the time! I had forgotten that. And I had forgotten that Kim added her own impressions, as well, making the report even more useful.

Woohoo! I also loved this tour. If you are on FB start following French Girl in Seattle Takes Paris. She is new to RS guiding this year but did the HOF tour several times during the summer and fall. She did a post on Dec 8 showing some wine she had received from a visit to the wine tasting the tour goes to at Selles sur Cher. Here is what she wrote:

"Le Château de Selles sur Cher (where I joined tour members for special wine tasting sessions throughout the season) finally shipped the bottles I ordered. As a French native I should know better than to discuss money matters. So vulgar ;-) Still, I would like to mention that Sauvignon Blanc cost me 8 Euros a bottle. Yep."

This was such an interesting stop! I'm not a big wine drinker but the chateau, the outdoor wine tasting, the owner telling stories about WWII, all SO interesting! This is just ONE of the cool things you'll do on this tour.

Enjoy!

Hi Tammy- hope you have a great time. Do a trip report when you get back. I pull out my scrapbook once in a while a look thru it. We are missing our good friend Gary (of Gary and Eileen) who went with us. He passed right before Thanksgiving. He was good friends with my DH and they use to work together at Warren Petroleum. I am still sad/missing him and shocked he is gone. So, I advocate to travel as much as you can.! I was trying to get them to go in a river cruise sometime. Looking forward to my 8th trip. Think this may be the longest we have been gone, 24 days

Jane and Pam, I have your trip reports bookmarked. I have already referred to them several times as I build our itinerary.
@Kim, so sorry to hear of your friend Gary’s passing. Life goes too quick. I can’t believe it will be 36 years since I was last in Paris. I let way too much time pass before going back, as I loved it for the one day I was there back in 1984 on my whirlwind trip through Europe.

Well it looks as if we will both be in Paris at the same time....however I will be finishing Paris in 7 days tour (April 26th) and you will be off on your tour. I am sticking around Paris for another 8 or 9 days after. Probably a few day trips and Cafe lounging as required.

Tammy and MarkMcG, we've had fun a couple of times meeting up with Forum friends while in Europe.

Sending this back to top of thread, getting super excited and thinking of my packing as I want to reduce my baggage weight by 5 pounds!
Also, plans to meet up with my cousin’s daughter who is living in Paris right now and Kim in Paris from this forum has also suggested a meet up! We have 4 nights prior to start of tour, so 7 nights in Paris total! Yes!

Tammy, Kim (from OK) and I got to meet up with Paris Kim when we were there. She's delightful, as you might imagine.
