In the recent movie, The Equalizer 3 starring Denzel Washington, the lady CIA agent was carrying a Rick Steves Italy guide book. She
carried it in two scenes during the movie.
Good eye Tony.
Product placement is a complex issue in film and television.
Ones I remember:
Reese's Pieces in ET
FedEx in Castaway
Austin Martin in early James Bond films
Rolex in Daniel Craig’s Bond in the Casino Royale
Dunkin Donuts in Jack and Jill ( if want to see a cringe worthy moment watch to see Al Pacino sing a
Dunkin Donuts promo ad)
Coca Cola AND Pepsi in the 1963 movie One Two Three. Stars James Cagney as a Coke executive.
Now you know that every time you purchase a RS' book or tour, some of your money goes to Denzel Washington.
OK, so Equalizer 4 is going to need an updated edition!
You would have to be a Rick's fan to even notice the book. Really only got a slight view but knowing what his books look like was the key. Hate to think anybody got paid for that.
A member of the Rick Steves staff assured us that they did not pay for the product placement:

Claudia knows how these things work.
If you were a director and wanted to include authentic details, a generic book wouldn't do. At least some people would know. .
Claudia knows how these things work.
Stan, you're right.
