Heading out for Best of Southern Italy, American airlines verifly app doesn't work. Can't get checked in or boarding passes. What a joke. Guess, I'll get to the airport a little earlier.
The app doesn't work for everyone or not everyone uses technology. Some people don't have the phones or iPad others have and don't want to mess with them. I couldn't 't get it to work on our last two trips. One last July going to France and Germany and going to Italy the last of March into April this year. All we did was go to the ticket agent and bam she did what needed to be done. I did mention I couldn't get the app to work but it was no big deal to her. Walked away with the boarding passes. I see no reason to leave any earlier to the airport. Have a good trip.
I used VeriFLY with AA last year going to Cancun. It honestly had nothing to do with departure, but instead for returning to USA to upload your negative test results.
I know, I just like having everything finished, Boarding passes on phone, etc. I'm ready to go!
It is a little wonky for sure.
In many cases you will not get boarding passes for international flights because passports need to be checked by the gate agents. This has been our experience for the past half dozen flights, both pre and post covid.
And- Verifly can be very moody.
Have a great trip!
Believe it or not, we had trouble getting the app to accept our pictures. It took almost an hour to upload our stuff but we're going to check-in anyway tomorrow so we make sure they have everything they need.
I've used Verifly for three trips without too many problems. Sometimes I had to try twice. Most people have problems because they try too early.
Wait until it's time to check in to upload everything.
After hours of frustration, never got it working. Only one person on tour got it working. They AA people even said it's a joke, maybe one of the work. Anyway, I'm home and happy, great RS tour to Southern Italy.
Don't worry if you can't get it to work. We just came back from Europe and both ways just handed our paperwork to the agent when we checked in. It was fine.
