I had recently seen a RS post about how much he liked Minori, less crowded than Sorrento, anyone have suggestions about staying there? Booking a trip with travel agent simply because we do not want to drive, If you have been to Minori do they have a town that is easy to walk around and what hotel would you suggest?
On the Rick Steves tour in Sept. we stayed here:

I liked the hotel and it's location, and really liked Minori.
Hi Carol -
Is there a reason why you feel you need an agent to book this trip? With hotel suggestions from the gang here, you can make the hotel booking yourself. As well, most visitors use public transit or private drivers on the Amalfi Coast, especially during the busier seasons. You can get suggestions for both on this forum as well.
One caution? Minori has ferry service in the warmer months but not during low season. When is your trip?
Trip is next Sept., do you need a ferry to get to Minori? We wanted to take some of the stress out of the planning of drivers. We have done Rick Steve tours and planned our own but the Amalfi coast stressed me out.
Loved our stay last at the hotel San Francesco, it had just be updated and the room numbers were not even up on the doors yet! Had a fabulous meal on our free night down the street a bit at Ferraiuolo. Best food of the trip! Also ate very good caprese salad at ChIosco Bar San Francesco on the beachside almost in front of the hotel. We took the lemon "path" and it was a bit of a hike, but pretty enough with some nice views, but it was a HIKE with a lot of stairs for sure. We ended up taking the "sidewalk" along the water back from the other side rather than the hike back. Minori was a charming town and not crowed like Amalfi....
The ferries were running in September, and it's a nice way to travel between towns. I took one from Minori to Amalfi and back. Amalfi was so crowded I was happy to get back to pleasant Minori.
Ditto to Liz's post: they'll be running in Sept unless the weather is too nasty.
IMHO, when possible, travel by ferry in the AC during high season -when you'll be there - beats travel by road any day.
Another upvote for Minori and the Ferraiuolo Restaurant. Their Eggplant Parmesan was wonderful. We also walked the Lemon Trail. I remember quite a few steps up but just at the beginning and the views were worth it. And frankly after the Cinque Terra trails, this trail was ‘a lot’ easier. We stopped at a lemon orchard along the way, learned what was special about the Almalfi lemons and were treated to a glass of fresh lemon juice with a touch of salt. We then took the ferry to Almalfi and the crowds even in late April were already overwhelming. So as others have said, Minori was a nice respite from it.
Thanks everyone, after completing a busy RS tour to Greece this fall I am looking for just living like a local in Italy next year, I have done the villages tour and was a fan of the smaller towns. On this trip we have Bari, Matera, and Lecce, any other places we should check out?
I need to make a note of correction regarding the hotel recommendation of Hotel San Francesco.
Hotel San Francesco is in Maiori not Minori. Minori is next to Maiori, around the small peninsula.
