Zurich or Geneva?

Any thoughts as to which place is better to visit for just 3 days? Going to Interlaken after.

Interests include hiking, museums, local food, cafes, pubs, nightlife and affordable, central accomodations.

Thanks.

Well - both locations have some great nearby day trips... since youre doing Interlaken - you will get your hiking in. In Zurich - they have the big city feel, lots of old and new world. If you want museums and the Chagal Windows in the cathedral go for it... take a strol up the famous Bahnhoffstrasses (the rodeao dr of CH)... if youre more into the outdoorsy stuff - right now Geneva and the lake district wine areas are amazing if you like a nice vineyard drive or hike. Castle Chillon is right nearby, as is Greyere Castle... all close to Geneva. The small (or large) towns around the lake are also great and picturesque- Laussanne, etc. Id think Geneva is more laidback vs Zurich, but there are beautiful towns and hills right outside of Zurich too. But Id say go for Wine area beauty this time of year, or zurich in the off-wine season.
