Zurich + Murren Qs

Hello everyone:

1) Has anyone done the Zuri Rollt or the free biking program in Zurich? I read it on the Rick Steves book and think it might be a different way to see the sights. Plus work out all that fondue and chocolate weight :) Do the biking paths take you across major sights? Is it a fairly flat city? Is it safe to do this?

2) We will be in Murren from October 25th-October 31st, 2008. I know most of Murren is pretty much dead (we don't mind, we will enjoy the quiet and tourist-free Europe is worth it!!) However, will there be atleast some restuarants or grocery stores open so we can eat. I am especially interested in Stagerstubli and the Chinese place in Murren. Both sound great.
Thank you.

There is a great co-op grocery store in Murren which should be open. There is a restaurant in the gondola station which should be open. Murren is fantastic and it was quiet when I was there too. Be prepared for snow. We had 16" on June 1 last year. It was gorgeous!

A few restaurants should stay open, but you probably won't have much of a selection.

There is a great pub when you get off the train in Murren. I can't remember the name, but it use to be in Rick's book. I will look through my pictures and see if I can find it. If you are getting the train tickets it is not problem to run into Interlaken for dinner. We have been about 5 times, twice to Murren, camping twice and Lauterbunnen last summer. We loved the Thi food near the train station in Interlaken. We didn't make it last year, as the food in Lauterbrunnen was so good.
