Zum Turken near Eagle's Nest

I am highly interested in staying in this old hotel near Eagle's Nest. Has anyone been there? I contacted the Frau who runs in and I was quoted 194 Euro per night. I thought that was very steep. Does anyone have any suggestions or trick to possibly getting a better rate there? We were given a check in time of no later than 5pm and she wanted my credit card number up front. I feel she is in a good position to be demanding because it is a great historical spot. Has anyone done this area and then gone to Salzburg as well. Should I allow 2 or 3 nights here?

€194/nt. That was double occupancy, right? That does seem to me to be a bit (?) pricey. Their website says €114-€158. Are all the less expensive rooms sold out, or is it at a special time? Zum Turken is historical, but I hardly think it is worth that. Berchtesgaden accommodations are expensive, but you should be able to find something more reasonable if you are willing to stay in town - I know I did. Zum Turken might be handy to the Nest, but it is not for the rest of town or for other attractions like Koenigssee. If you want to spend some time and see other attractions like the Koenigssee and the Dokumentation center, I would really recommend two nights. There is a bus, the Watzmann Express from Berchtesgaden Hbf to Salzburg. You can ride it both ways plus use all the buses in Berchtesgaden for a day with the RVO Tagesticket for €9 per adult Make that three nights.
