How is the weather in Garmisch/zugspitze this time of the year? Do I need to pack winter clothing for the trip to the top of the zugspitze? How about the Partenkirchen Gorge hike? Will that require very warm clothing as well?
Thanks all in advance!
My family was at the Zugspitze on Saturday, 14.7.7 and the weather was wonderful! The day was sunny and clear. We wore short sleeved shirts, jeans, and either light jackets or hoody sweatshirts while we were at the top. My children were chilly playing in the snow (snowball fight and building a snowman as teenagers!) The sun was very warm and I even took off my jacket while relaxing in the sun at the top! The temperature varied a lot on our three weeks in Germany and Austria in July. We had 95 plus degrees in Munich and then cooler days along the Rhine and in other parts of Germany. We only took a pair of pants and a light jacket for the cooler weather and we were fine throughout the trip. I mostly wore shorts and capris. I did not have time to take the hike at G-P but we did hike in other areas around Reutte and the weather was wonderful! My children even swam twice in the Plansee!!! A little too cold for me though! Enjoy your trip!!!
