The August daytime temperatures for Zugspitze in Germany are in the mid-thirties to mid-forties. If we go up in early September, will layering with a warm shirt and light jacket be warm enough? We are Texans and get cold easily!
Hi Carol,
We went to the Zugspitze 5 years ago but in mid October. Pretty cold at the top, mostly because it was very windy. When the wind would stop, it was ok. We had winter jackets on. You can also go inside to escape the cold, as there is a restaurant with panoramic views, gift shops, etc. at the top.

Thanks for the advice. I don't want to carry a winter coat, so layering will be very necessary.
