Go to RS blog. Via Ferrata Switzerland Murren, then go to "you tube" and see what it's all about. www.kletlersteig-murren.ch
where on youtube??????
Jim, this is a traveler's helpline, not a link for sensation seekers. Please reserve this space for specific questions or requests for help from fellow travelers. If you want us to see something, tell us what it's about so we will not waste our time. Thank you.
It is listed here on the website under News and Events, and is a video on Rick Steves blog that Rick has posted himself.
I apologize. The 18 year old part of my mind took over what's left of my brain.
This was definitely a worthwhile tip about Rick's latest blog entry. However, I still haven't been able to find the video. btw, the above website link has a typo, the correct one is:
www.klettlersteig-murren.ch Now, if you really want to see a thriller about mountaineering in the Murren area I highly recommend to see the movie "Northface" about the real 1936 attempt to climb the Eiger Northface - which in German has the nickname "Mordwand" or "murder(ous) wall"!!! http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2061632537/
Excellent film, Beatrix. Made me look at the Berner Oberland in a whole different light.
O - M - G!!!!!! Wow. Gave me a case of the wombles (and I love heights). And now, I must DO IT!!! Thanks!
Thank you Chris!! Sorry to everyone about the typo, I just got real excited. Most of the individuals who come to this site; a) Haven't purchased a RS guidebook, or b) do not keep d by coming to Ricks web site. There are months that go by where I don't look over the WHOLE website, and you tend to miss out on important data. I've learned a lot by just looking and reading virtually everything on the graffiti Wall.
b) do not keep updated on info by coming to RS website.
Jim, you do know that once you are signed in that you can correct any typos, delete items or your whole post, or add in additional info. You don't have to make a complete new post. For example, you have this thread posted twice, so you can easily go remove the other one. I would say that many people on this forum read it completely on a frequent if not daily basis. Not sure where you got your figures from that the Helpline isn't read by the users. All you have to is look at how many posts some of us have. Those come from reading the forum all the time, maybe posting answers on one or two questions and over the years, they add up.
Jo, sorry you misunderstood me. I didn't say Forum , I said web-site, RS entire website to include, Graffiti Wall, Today's News, Tour News, Travel blogs, guidebook corrections, People pro's and con's, likes and dislikes of portions of his tours. The forum is very insightful and so are TA's forums. Will be in Neuss, Germany on Tuesday, maybe we can get together and share travel ideas.
