WW II

I will be in Paris for several days this coming spring and would like to visit some of the WW II sites - Normandy beaches etc.Suggestions for a tour company would be appreciated. I have limited time so a small tour group would be suit me. Thanks Andrea

Hi Andrea
We went on a tour last November with Dale Booth. He was great and I highly recommend him. We loved our tour of the D-Day sites and our stay in Bayeaux

Andrea, Visiting the Normandy beaches as a day trip from Paris is not an ideal solution due to the travel times involved. They really only have time for lunch and a quick overview of a few of the major sites. If that's all you're interested in and can afford the costs, then you might have a look at: www.pariscityvision.com/en/france/normandy/d-day-beaches The best method (IMO) is to spend at least two nights in Bayeux and take one of the excellent local tours. The tours are often a full day, they cover a wider range of sights than the Paris day trips. The Guides are exceptional and really make the history "come alive". They local firms often provide tours for Veterans, so they have some interesting stories to relate. Lunch is usually not included on the local tours, but that's not a huge expense. If you decide to stay in Bayeux, some of the local tour firms are: > www.daleboothnormandytours.com > www.ddayhistorian.com > www.overlordtour.com Happy travels!
