Worried about 'shoulder season' in Murren

I read on another post that June is a 'shoulder season' in Murren and that shops and restaurants will not be open. I am going there at the end of June next year. Is this true? Has anyone been at that time? (my dates are 27th to 30th June 2008)

We've been there in May and it was great! There are not many shops and rests there anyway but I doubt they're closed in june.

End of June is fine---we were just there! (Around June 26 to the 30th). Some things are closed after ski season and maybe through May, but by early to mid-June everything is open. It is not as crowded as later in the season, and the wildflowers are in full bloom. So it's a great time to go, actually.

That's great!
Where did you eat in the evenings? What kind of prices do they charge for meals?

We visited Murren at the beginning of June this year. It was very quiet and just beautiful. Not all of the shops were open yet but the main restaurant was and we had a very nice lunch. Some hotels seem to be open as well. You should be just fine by the end of June.

We've been several times at the end of May and first of June. Not everything is open, but that's not a big deal. The grocery store is open year round, several restaurants were open and several of the hotels of very nice restaurants within them. Hotel Alpenruh has a very good restaurant. If you decide that you need more restaurants and shops then jump over to Wengen or back down to Interlaken for a few hours.

Honestly, I'd take Muerren any day of any week!
