My wife & I will be in Paris on Bastille Day. We plan to picnic on the Champs de Mars and hoping to find our picnic goodies fresh that morning at Rue Cler market.
Will the shops and stalls along Rue Cler will be open the morning of July 14th?

Don't have an answer to that question either but I probably wouldn't count on it. We were in Arromanche (Normandy) on Bastille Day in 2004 and that was great fun with the fireworks in the evening! If the Rue Cler market/shops are not open on Bastille Day, do try and enjoy them on another day. We stayed at a hotel on the lovely Rue Cler and enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks very much. But what I'm really looking for is the ability to buy fresh food for my picnic on the morning of July 14th ... any alternative suggestions?

But that would set up an endless loop! Question about anything related to Paris comes to Helpline, Perry says ask Tom. Tom says ask us. And so on and so on.
