I am planning to spend a few days in Chamonix in early June and am told the trip would not be complete without a ride on the Aiguille du Midi cable car. I have been having trouble finding out whether it will be operating on Monday, June 3rd. Does anyone have any advice on who to contact or whether it is going to be in operation? Thanks all!

It is very likely it will be open. It closes only in December. More info here: http://www.compagniedumontblanc.co.uk/en/site-overview/aiguille-du-midi/timetables Now, the caveat: you cannot cross from France all the way to Italy because the Italians are rebuilding the whole thing (to be opened in 2015). But you can go to the top of Aiguille du Midi without problems.
