My wife and I are traveling to Paris next month. We are staying at a hotel on Ile St Louis. On our past visits we had difficulty finding free wifi hotspots. Our hotel offered wifi but at 9 euros per day. Are there any locations where free hotspots are available in Paris?

It's rare for hot spots to be free; typically you will have to pay for usage. There will always be a few cafe's or hotels that will offer it free, they are the exception rather than the rule.
Did you know the Romans had internet?
I kid you not! There is a FREE WIFI hot spot in the Arènes de Lutèce in Paris. This small arena is one of 2 surviving structures from the Gallo-Roman period in the city. Today, little kids have gym classes in it.

I believe Starbucks in Paris has wifi. Note they pronouce it "wee fee"
