We planned to take a day trip to 3 white hills town from Sevilla but the tour is now cancelled.
We have 3 days in Sevilla and a train trip to Ronda looks doable--other towns maybe not so easy--now wishing we had a car. Looks like the trip would be 2 hrs each way. Is it worth it? Any suggestions appreciated.
We had a car and did a stop in Ronda last month. We spent about 4 hours there and wished we had stayed overnight. Nice town, friendly people and lots to see, would have liked to stay longer but we were en route from Grenada to Tarifa.
We went to Ronda (by car) and it was one of our "not to be missed" memories. Do hike down to the bottom, below the bridge, and take some photos up at the hill tops and bridge.
Ronda is the greatest -- was there in 2001 and again in 2005.
I think it's about 3 hours from both Granada and Seville by train, although maybe the trains are a little faster now than when I researched it. We did rent a car, because we wanted to do a short side trip to Gibraltar. I think a day trip to Ronda from Seville might be a stretch, even if it's only two hours each way you have to make sure that the train times are conducive to your plan. Train connections outside of big cities in Spain are slow and tenuous.
We took an early train from Sevilla to Rhonda and had a great time. Have to say, though, if I had to flip a coin, I'd take the fast train to Cordoba over Rhonda. Whichever you chose, you will make the right choice! (Rhonda will be especially fun if you're a Hemingway fan!)
