for those who have been there - which is the best season for Spain? Is April and early May better than late Sept or October? Im thinking of taking the first or last RS-tour in 08.

This is similar to asking which is better, apples or oranges? Spring is fantastic in Spain, but then again, so is Autumn. The weather will be nice in the areas covered by the tour at both times of the year -- warm, but not too hot.
Personally, I prefer the light towards the end of the year (especially for Lisbon), but during the springtime, days are perceptibly longer.
Why not do 'em both? There's lots to see.
