I know Rick adores Gimmelwald. Anyone out there have any other suggestions? We are 2 adults, 2 teenage girls. we want to be central to all the Alps /Jungfrau activities. Not too pricey

Lauterbrunnen, if you wish to ge on the valley floor with good transport connections to elsewhere. Wengen or Muerren if you want to be high up in a carfree village, just minutes above Lauterbrunnen. Chalet Fontana in Muerren has a ground floor two bedroom apartment that is very affordable and perfect for a family of four.

The Valley Hostel in Lauterbrunnen is a great place w/ bunk rooms but also private rooms. Communal kitchen is great. This was my first quasi hostel stay as we were in private room. Very family oriented. Book quickly and hope for a vacancy. Being on the valley floor in Lauternrunnen gives you the best options and very nr trams and train station. Weather is changeable very quickly so it is gd to know you have choice when you are in the BO area. We also stayed at Hotel Staubbach nice also but more pricey.
Gimmelwald is terrific but as a half day trip.
