Where to stay in Paris in December?

Finally bought our air tix so we can start really planning...Need a little assistance with an itenerary. Arriving in Zurich in the afternoon of Dec 9. Stay in Zurich or take the train to Luzern? Next, stay in Murren for 4 nights. We love the mountains, but is it too long for that location? Still easy to see other places by train such as Bern? Next, from Switzerland, we will head to Paris. Should we go from Murren to Lausanne or Lyon for a couple of nights then to Paris? How many nights are needed to see Paris (Eiffel Tower, Sacra Cur (sp), Notre Dame)? Fly home the 21st from CDG. Better to stay in an apartment (have a small child) or hotel or B&B in Paris and where? Thanks in advance for everyone's help!!

Try Vacations in Paris - we got an apt through them for 9 days - Dec 24 - Jan 2 and it was reasonable - you even get free phone calls back to US. I checked them out on Tripadvisor as well as the apt, and it has all been good. Be sure and check out your place on Tripadvisor before you book. Do not!! - get a place W/O checking it out. I have done this for my last several European trips and have always been pleased. It is so nice to get other opinions before "taking the leap". Your trip can be ruined if you get a bad place and you wind up spending all your time fixing things.
Thanks - Bill

HI as others have mentioned Apartments are great in Paris. Many do not rent for under a week. Check out Trip advisor for tons of info. Good luck on your trip. We have been planning for 8 months for our trip. Great that you can go in less than a month and plan the whole thing.

You have listed an extremely ambitious itinerary. We have given short tours of France and Germany to some of our State side friends, and your plan would be grueling, especially with a small child. But to the point, I would suggest at least 3 nights in Paris. You may wish to spend the last night in a hotel near CDG. Many have free shuttles to and from the airport. You could take the metro from Paris out to CDG, unless you wish to pay the price of a taxi. The taxi is definitely more convenient, but a bit more expensive. Good Luck,
