where to stay in Murren

There are 4 of us ( 3 adults and one 14yo) and will be staying 3 days in Murren and 1 day in Lucerne . Would you recommend any accomodation not over $ 150 per night. We will have 2 rooms and preferably with our own bathrooms. Also,is it very warm in JUly that we need to get air conditioning in our room? thanks

It sounds like the Chalet Fontana's apartment is what you're looking for. Ensuite bathroom, two bedrooms can accomodate 6 people, full kitchen, breakfast included...and it's about the cheapest place in all of Muerren.

Thanks a lot for al the wonderful feedbacks.
Chalet Fontana has all the positive reviews. My only hesitation is the shared bathroom. Please don't get me wrong. I was thinking if there are apartments that we could rent in say 3-4 days? someone mentioned about Blumenthal? I need to reck the name.
I have receive a post saying I have a private message but I do not know how to retrieve it. Thanks again.

sally,

Are you set on staying in Murren, or would Gimmelwald suffice?

You might have a look at Esther's Guesthouse, as she may have the type of rooms you're looking for. There's also the Pensione, although it's under new ownership since I was last there.

Also, as Chris mentioned, the hike downhill from Murren to Gimmelwald is about 30 minutes (of course, takes longer going uphill). It's definitely longer than "a couple of minutes".

Hope you have a wonderful time there!

Hi Ken,
My first choice is Murren. I looked thru Chris list of suggestions and am looking at either Eiger Guesthouse or Hotel Alpina. Thanks

Like you, I hesitated about the shared bathroom at the Chalet Fontana. It turned out not to be a problem. There's also a bathroom downstairs outside the main room that's a little more private. I would highly recommend the Chalet Fontana.

Sally, to retrieve your private messages, just click on "My Profile" in the top right hand corner. You will then get a listing of your private messages. Just click on the one you want to view. By the way, I stayed at Hotel Alpina several years ago and really enjoyed it. The views were awesome. Enjoy your trip making lifetime memories with your family!

And just in case I wasn't clear about the Chalet Fontana Apartment...the bathroom is NOT shared. The other rooms in the Chalet share 2 bathrooms, but the apartment has its own private facilities.
