Hitting up Costa Brava at tail end of my honeymoon in August (fiance is a teacher, so summer is the only time we could do an extended trip). We will be coming in from Arles, France. Looking to stay 3 nights in Costa Brava before two nights in Barcelona, from where we will fly home to Seattle. Have heard good things about Cadaques. Prefer small town over beach resort. Suggestions on cities and or hotels to stay at? Inexpensive but character idea as far as accomdations go is ideal (of course it is). Thanks!!!

Lars, we rented an apartment in L'Escala, nice little village, has nice restaurants, a little market, not far from the ruins of Empuries. Easy daytrips to Girona, Cadaques or Figueres if you have a car.

Lars, we stayed at the Hotel Duran in Figueres, a very pleasant town and home of the Salvador Dali museum. The hotel is extremely nice and reasonably priced, just a block from the main plaza and close to the museum. The owner was friends with Dali and there are signed original sketches and prints all over the hotel.
