Does anyone know a nice, reasonable, en suite place to stay in Colmar, close to trains coming from Switzerland? Thanks, Pam
My husband and I stayed at Chez Leslie last year. Leslie is American but has lived in Europe for many years. She has lots of travel experience to share. Her B&B is just a few blocks from the train station in a residential area, and historic Colmar is an easy walk from her home. Breakfast was lovely and the rooms are clean, comfortable and attractive. You can find her website at www.chezleslie.com.
Thanks Anita, will give it a try - will also post a similar question about Bruges - do you have any ideas?
my 8 year old son and I stayed at Chez Leslie in the fall of 2008. Leslie and her family were wonderful and helpful. two blocks behind the train station and about a 20 minute walk to the old city core and the unterlinden museum. great place to stay
Just to give you another option, we really liked La Maison des Tetes, in the old city. The old town in Colmar is one of the great under-discovered places in France.
We stayed at Maison Martin Jund a few years ago, you can look him up at martinjund.com. Super nice family, we had a en suite room plus a kitchenette. They make their own wine and will be happy to let you try some. :)
Of course, reasonable is a relative term. That being said, we loved staying at the Maison des Tetes. Great location and it is one of the main historical sights in Colmar.
I recommend the Hotel St Martin in Colmar.
