Traveling with 3 agile, but elderly parents, and 2 college age, what area is best to stay? Will be there for 6 nights.

I looked at many hotels on Trip Advisor and finally decided on Hotel Colon. It was comfortable, clean and convenient. It is located near the Ramblas, there is a hop-on-hop-off bus stop near by as well as a metro station. There is a sister hotel called Hotel Regencia less than a block away that may be less espensive. I didn't eat at the hotel but there is a wonderful little Italian restaurant around the corner called La Locandia. Many people from the hotel find this little gem and eat there several nights...it is that wonderful and convenient. The Colon is near the Picasso Museum and there is a market nearby where you can buy items for a picnic. You will love Barcelona.

Judy, with a group you might be better off with an apartment.
