i am traveling to avignon in late june with my husband and 6 year old daughter.
we will stay in avignon for the first half of the trip. i was wondering if anyone might have any good suggestions as to where to stay? i was also wondering if anyone has stayed in any of the towns near the gorges du verdon? my husband is running a race there so we would like to be fairly close to that area. any suggestions are much appreciated.

I went on a week-long hiking trip through the Verdon Gorge and surrounding area about 10 years ago. We hiked from village to village and stayed in the towns of Riez, Moustiers Sainte Marie, La Palud, Castellane, and Saint Andre les Alpes. I'd suggest that you look to stay in either Castellane or Moustiers Sainte Marie. Enjoy your trip.
