2 of us will be in Amsterdam at the end of Aug for 3 nights. Any recommendations on lodging in a quiet area near/on a canal? We'd like to keep it below 110 euros if possible.

Boogaard's is phenomenal, although it's @ 125 Euro. You would not be disappointed by spending the extra per night. Read about it on Trip Advisor. Quiet, narrow street, one block from canal. Wonderful area, host, food. Enjoy the city!

We used Priceline and got the Movenpick for 60 Euro per night for 4 nights. Quite a bargain and a wonderful hotel.
