Where to stay in Alsace region

Can't decide whether to stay in Riquewihr or Eguisheim
Any suggestions of which town or hotels or B&B's?

We're staying in Beblenheim which isn't far from Riquewihr and Colmar...just off A35, at Le Gambrinus. The website is www.legambrinus.fr. It is a very small hotel but has a restaurant/pub in cellar and is only 58 euros with breakfast. Other places we looked at were Maison d'hotes a Riquewihr, Hotel le Sarment d'or & Le Bastion (Riquewihr); Madame Bombenger chambres d'hote, Monsieur Remy Meyer, Le Petite Marche de Sophie & Jean Claude Forny (Eguisheim).
Hope this is helpful.

Linda, I stayed in Colmar (Hotel Le Rapp) on my visit last year, and really enjoyed my time there. In addition to the wonderful Unterlinden Museum, there's a good selection of restaurants and a really nice ambience. I visited Strasbourg on a day trip, and was glad that I hadn't chosen to stay there. It's a beautiful city, but I found it too large and crowded. Happy travels!

Check the websites for both of these towns to look at the hotel and B&B options. We have been to both of the towns and since they are close together either one would be fine as your base. I recently saw a very nice place in Eguisheim that I thought we would enjoy if we travel there again.

If you're planning to stay in a chambred'hote or small hotel, be sure to book well in advance as i found many already booked.
