Where to go after Paris for four nights, returning to cdg?

After a one week R.S.tour of Paris, my husband & I have four nights before returning to CDG airport. My husband wants to take day trips from Strasbourg. Is there somewhere else as a good choice? We will be traveling only by train. We have already made several trips to Colmar and to Beaune and would like some place new. By the way, this tour is in November, so the weather will be on the cool side.

Avignon would be a good base for day trips and you can take a direct TGV from there to CDG.

Thanks Tim We have decided on going to Avignon. You are right about the TGV being a fast and easy trip back and forth from Paris to Avignon and back CdG. We have done this before. This will not be our first trip to Avignon, but worth another visit. Last time the temperatures were in the high 90's. November should be ideal. This reminds us of the last time: A man had dropped off his family at the TGV station while he returned the rental car. When he got to the train, his wife and two small children were no where to be seen. He jumped on at the last moment, but he still could not find them. His wife had all the tickets, all the money, passports, etc. He went from one end of the train to the other. The conductor did not understand English and this man did not speak French, so he could not help him. (Just a tourist trying to get a free ride with out a ticket). After we arrived in Paris, we realized there was an engine in the middle of the train His family was must have been in the other half. We never found out. We never travel with one person with all the passports and the money. This poor man was frantic all the way to Paris!!
