Hello fellow travelers!
At the end of our trip, we have a travel day from the Cinque Terre to a stopover in Carcassonne. This means one long train day through Provence and the French Riviera. If you had only 1 or 2 short stops to make in that region, where would you make them?

I'd stop in either Arles or Nimes, and maybe Nice. Depending on timing, connections etc.
I did a similar stopover on my way from Nice to Carcassonne. I used Arles, it was perfect for a short stay. I stayed at Le Calendal... very nice helpful staff and located right near the mini Colosseum.
