I'm trying to decide which Rick Steves Spain trip to go on - May 19 to June 3 or June 23 to July 8. I was trying to search for festivals or events during those times and the weather, etc. Any advice on where to look or any personal preferences between those dates? Thanks!

I vote for May !! Just the beginning of the tourist season and it should be cooler. Spain can get very hot in the summer. Your airfare might be a little cheaper also.

I agree with Frank. I was in Spain in 2008 in May and the weather was perfect. There was rain a couple of days, but no cold or hot weather.

I also agree with the May trip. I've been in Spain in both May, June, and July, and the heat is simply exhausting after May. This is coming from a Texan who is used to living in an oven!

Spring (May) or fall (September)...flights are less expensive, usually not as full,and the weather is much better each time I have traveled to Spain. Check out www.madridman.com and the Moon Guide to Spain, Candy Lee LaBalle, Amazon.com for good travel information.

May, definitely. The weather will be great but hopefully not as hot as later on and the crowds will be more manageable. You should save a little money then too.
