Jamie, this note of yours does not go to Rick . It is posted on a forum on his board where fellow travellers ask and help answer each others questions. It is not the most central of Ibis hotels, and it is not near the river. For almost same price, maybe a little more you could stay at the Hotel Diana, but it does not include breakfast. It is 2 minutes walk to river, Notre Dame, etc.
Agree. This hotel is a bit out of the way. With a little research, you can certainly find something closer in. April is not high season, so reservations should not be a problem. There are tons of resources out there to search the topic. But my first advice is to get a map of Paris and use it with your guidebook to really familiarize yourself with where everything is and get a sense of distances. Half the fun is doing the research and pin-pointing what you are most interested in. Talk to friends and coworkers; maybe some of them have been to Paris and can tell you what they liked, etc. Do some reading too. Doesn't have to be a hard core history book either. Read a story set in Paris to get a sense of the feel of the place. From time to time, look up the locations in the book to see where the characters are. Any trip to Europe is a big investment of time and money. You will get so much more out of it if you really dive in and do some fun research before you go. This forum is a wonderful place filled with regulars who really know Paris and can point you to informative websites, books, movies, and other resources. I apologize for getting a bit off topic! Good luck and I wish you a great trip!
jamie, In order to get a good overview of hotels, you might check your local Library or larger bookstores to see if you can find a copy of either the France 2013 or Paris 2013 Guidebooks. They have listings for good hotels in various parts of Paris. The Guidebooks are also available as E-books in several formats (ie: Kindle, iBooks, Kobo, Nook, etc.). Packing the Guidebook along would provide an excellent reference source during your trip. If you would prefer to be close to the Eiffel Tower, choosing a hotel in the Rue Cler area would be good, as that's within easy walking distance. A few that you could look at: > Hotel Muguet > Hotel Duquesne Eiffel > Hotel du Champs de Mars > Hotel du Cadran Have you determined how you'll be getting from the airport into Paris? Happy travels!
thanks guys i have the book paris 2013 so i hope that i can get a good hotel and not that expensive.
