What would you leave out of Paris?

I have been to Paris only for a short 2 day trip and did see the Louve and was up the Eiffel Tower.

I will be in and out of Paris for 12 days. I don't want to spend all my time in Museums except for Musée de l’Orangerie and d Orasay.
I want to spend a lot of time doing walking tours of the various neibourhoods.
I was thinking of leaving out Montparnasse?
I will be staying at St Chrisptpher's Hostel in the 19th so I will be close to Montmartre.
Is there any other areas to advoid so I can make good use of my time doing these waking tours? I found a few walking tours in Ricks book along with Lonely Planet.
I have found from past experience not to do to many museuns in a day and it can really wear you out.
anyways what do you think of leaving out Montparnasse?
thanks

My husband gave me a little "book" a couple of years ago about Paris Walks. There are 50 cards in the pack and each one includes a great walk. We have used it for years. Here is a link:

I would just go where the spirit moves you. All the best things are in central Paris, Arr 1-8. We spent two weeks walking Paris last year and only left those areas to visit a couple of flea markets, Pere Lachaise cemetary (I highly recommend this one!) and Marmotten.

Enjoy!

I just bought those cards today at Barns and Noble!
So if interested, you can look at that store in your area.

There are also guided walks that you can do. One is free, you just tip the guide. That walk began at the fountain Saint-Michel. The other is a tour of Montmartre and costs 5 or 10 euros, but at the end the guide buys you a drink. Both are Sandeman tours. You can google "free Paris walking tours" for more info. Have a fantastic time in Paris.
