My wife and boys are travelling to France this summer. We are spending 6 nights in Paris at the beginning of our trip. We are renting a car and plan to see Giverny, Rouen snd Honfleur(where we will stay 1 night). The net day we will travel to Bayeux, see the tapestry, stay overnight and take a DDay Battle Tour the following day and stay again in Bayeux. The next day we plan to go to Mont St Michel. I have two more nights to arrange, but where should we go from Mont St Michel on our way back to Paris? I appreciate any and all help!
Fougeres and Vitre are nice, but Dinan might be even more fun if the boys are very young. If you are not tired of changing hotels, I think you should find someplace halfway back to Paris, but except for the Loire, the coast is more interesting. And you can barely taste the Loire in two days. I'd say Chartres, but that's pretty close to Paris. Does it make any sense to save Honfleur for the return trip? We would like to have seen many more of the estate gardens in that area, but they are far apart, and a special interest for a whole family of people.
