What to expect in terms of accommodation price - Family of 6 (4 adults - 2 children 7&11)

Hello,

We are travelling as a family of 6 - 4 adults and 2 children to Paris, Nice, Swiss (Interlaken). I would like to know what to expect in terms of accommodation prices (we aren't too high on luxury, but prefer good rooms with maybe a breakfast or either an airbnb with cooking facilities). A range and some suggestions would be great.

I have searched a little on airbnb and booking.com and a few other places, but would like to get an idea about the range I could look at?

Thanks in advance.

Sheetal.

With a family, I find the living space and the option to have breakfast/lunch/snacks at home to be crucial to our happiness while on vacation so I almost always opt for apartments. Most have a minimum 3 day stay but not all. Estimated costs depend on many things, mostly location and season, but I have found that in most tourist areas the cost of a 2BR apartment is usually the same or less than a good hotel room.

For apartments, I would also look at vrbo.com and homeaway.com. If you look on vrbo.com at 2BR apts with internet access in (for example) the 6th arrondissement (Latin Quarter, between Luxumbourg Gardens and Notre Dame), there seem to be many apts from $125 -$250 and up. If you look at Nice, you can find 2BR apts in the same price range, some with a view of the sea !

Enjoy your trip!
