There is a group of us (3 teenagers, 1 grandmother, and me the aunt) taking a cooking class in Paris. We are staying in the rue Cler. We have to be at the Jules Joffrin metro station by 0920 (this is our last day in Paris so we will have to check out of the hotel and have luggage). The class is from 0920-1400 and then we have to catch our overnight train to Venice at 2030 (I am guessing we need to be at the Bercy train station by 1930) Where do we go /What do we do from 1400 to 1930?? Any suggestions?? Help!
Most hotels will let you leave your luggage with them, so I would do that and come back for it later. I would walk along the river to Ile de la Cite (where Notre Dame is) and walk around, then to Ile Saint Louis (little island behind Notre Dame) walk around, then walk around the Latin Quarter and up to the Luxembourg Gardens. Then have dinner, get my luggage and go to the train station. That would be a perfect day in Paris for me!
In what location/part of Paris is the class given?
Kent The cooking class instructions state for us to meet outside of the Jules Joffrin metro station where we will meet our instructor for some food shopping. Thanks Sharon
As Susan has already suggested, an important thing will be for you to be able to leave your luggage at your hotel, if at all possible. Ask the hotel when you check in. If you haven't yet done so, go to Google Map and look for the metro station, it's in the 18th arr. (district), northeast of Montmartre and well north of the Paris city center. We'll be able to give more specific suggestions if you can clarify 1) whether this is a first visit to Paris and 2) in general, what things you will have already seen by this, your last day.
