Traveling from Copenhagen to Berlin and thought we would split the trip up. Is there anything to do between Rostock and Berlin? Hiking, castles, quaint town and hostel? Literally any good 1 day suggestions appreciated! Thanks.

Jen, google "Rostock map" and then follow the main route to Berlin. If the train stops in Malchow (Malshow - not quite half-way to Berlin from Rostock)you could get off there and look around. It looks like an interesting small town, located in lakes area. If you then google Malchow and look at the images you'll get an idea of what to expect. There's an English website talking about the town. Are you stopping in Rostock, as well? There should be inexpensive lodging in Malchow if you plan to spend the night. Bet you wont find any American tourists there but the area is popular with Germans, I believe. I'm almost talking myself into going there from Berlin next spring.....Would love to hear what you decide. Anna
