Just curious what restaurant you loved. I'll be arriving on a Sunday morning and after wandering around the Left Bank, would like to relax in a nice restaurant (great ambience and food) around 7 or 8pm. I've got the RS book, but want to know what places you like that is not mentioned in the book. Merci!
La Montebello which is on the left bank, directly across from Notre Dame. The food is good and reasonable, plus you get a great view of the side of the cathedral. I am not sure if it is in the 5th or the 6th.
25 euros per person would be the price max.
Okay, in the 6th, under €25/person, open by 7pm. To hit all 3 of those criteria, I'm going to recommend a cafe rather than a restaurant: Cafe le Procope, a few blocks east of St. Germain-des-Pres cathedral on Blvd St. Germain.Re 1st post, if Montebello is across from Notre Dame, it's in the 5th.
You do not mention your budget but we really like Les Bouquinistes on Rue St Augustin. It is across from Notre Dame--not sure if it in the 5th or 6th but well located. Our meals were excellent and it was moderately priced. It is mentioned in most guidebooks, but not RS.

Travelgirl,
Keep in mind that many restaurants in Paris are closed on Sunday evening. Also, restaurants don't usually open until 7:30. Most Parisians arrive between 8:30 and 9:00. But there will be many cafes and brasseries open and serving food earlier.
"Keep in mind that many restaurants in Paris are closed on Sunday evening" Terry thanks for the info! =) And thanks to everyone else for their suggestions!
