What is the best way to get to Neuschwanstein Castle?

I think it is very easy to do it yourself. Why give someone else your money? All they do is escort you on the train and bus to the castle. The actual tour in the castle is run by the castle administration. At least one tour company has you pay for the castle tour separately.

Best way? But I don't know from where? From Oregon, probably the best way is private jet, dropping you by parachute (mind you don't get stuck on a tower, a la Ste-Mere-Eglise) and its probably expensive.
