What did you like the best......Scandinavia or Germany/Austria/Czech

I would like to ask the travelers which countries you enjoyed visiting the best. Criteria: Best scenery, people, food, and significant sights.

Thank you for your help

I am just in the final days of a whirlwind trip thru germ/aust/cz rep/slovn/Croatia.

Here are my quick thoughts. The people in Croatia have been heaven sent. Going out of their way to help us. Not sufficient to tell you directions, more than once people have insisted on taking us to the location we were looking for. Germans are a close second for friendliness. Czech R doesn't win any points in this catagory. Not to say they were rude - they were not. Just not friendly. Same with France.

Scenery is a tough one... EU has stunned me with natural beauty. Yesterday we were at Plitvice Park in Croatia and it was maybe the most naturaly beautiful place. Hallstatt, Austria was up there too.

Food - no contest....France. France. France. France. (but I have heard Spain is the new foodie mecca, I just haven't been there).

Lastly significant sites - Italy. The size, grandure, history, age, beauty etc etc of the "sites" there win for me.

Of the places you ask about specifically, I've only been to Copenhagen and Vienna, and for me personally Copenhagen won by a million miles (and I was at both one right after the other). Found the people MUCH nicer, the city gorgeous, the sites great (though the Hapsburg sites in Vienna are also special), and just all around a wonderful spirit in the city that I did not feel in Vienna. That Said I am in my hotel room in Bologna, Italy right now having just come from Florence and nowhere could possibly compete with Italy in my heart :)

All of your criteria are relative. My favorite food may not be yours, I might like oceans and gardens the best and you might like mountains and skyscrapers, people are both friendly and rude everywhere, though usually the farther south one goes the friendlier and more open they become. As to signifigant sights? Roman ruins, Baroque palaces, famous paintings, Gothic cathedrals or sights with deep religious or historic meaning? Again, that is all relative as to your interests.
