That's a great itinerary. I'm sure you're aware of Sababurg castle near Göttingen (the original Sleeping Beauty castle after which the Grimm brothers wrote their fariy tale - Neuschwanstein is only 100 years old and was built after the Grimm brothers' story). Between Göttingen and Hannover I'd also spend some time in either Goslar or Quedlinburg with Goslar being the more convenient one on your road. Between Hannover and Hamburg spend a few hours in Lüneburg. It's equally as beautiful as Lübeck but in a different way. It's one of the hidden gems...
