What's to see/do between Seville, Spain and Faro, Portugal

Hello everyone. My wife and I will be in Seville, and some family will be in Faro, Portugal. We wanted to meet in between for a day. Any suggestions on what to see or do? Thanks! Paul

I still have not managed get there and not particularly half way between - described as something for all ages - Rio Tinto mine and park.
