Early in September, we will rent a car in Nice and head west toward Provence. I am torn between driving along the Mediterranean coast and heading out through the mountains. I have thought about driving to Vence and St. Paul, spending the night in Grasse then returning to the coast the next day. This way we can spend the night in Cassis, take a boat ride the next day to the Calanques and then head north to Aix. But I am also interested in visiting places such as St. Maximin-le-Ste.-Baume. I am open to suggestions.
