We'll be visiting our Son in London in March and want to go somewhere else for a 3 day weekend. Thinking of Paris (we've been before) or maybe Amsterdam as they're both easily accessible by train but looking for suggestions of other places we shouldn't miss?
Sue, Would you be interested in destinations in the U.K. or Ireland for your 3-day weekend getaway? There are a few good possibiities..... > Bath > Cotswolds > York > Edinburgh > Dublin Amsterdam is certainly one possibility, however a budget flight would likely be faster than travel by train (although I haven't checked). Happy travels!
Yes, I'd definitely consider destinations in the UK. My son is 22, we all love good food/drink, museums, architecture, and walking. If you had to pick one not to miss which would it be?
Sue, I agree with Ken and think of the options he listed Bath might be a good weekend spot. There are several interesting day trips you could do from bath - Salsbury or Wells cathedrals for instance. It looks like it would only take 3.5 hours by train from London to Brugge which definately has great architecture and food!
