week in Sete, France

We are considering a week in Sete in an apt. following a week in Paris with a RS tour. Has anyone spent time in this fishing village or others like it? We like the off-the-beaten-track quality it seems to promise. We plan to take buses or trains to other towns if/when we tire of walking on the beaches, gorging on seafood in Sete etc.

We've been to Sete a couple of times, and loved it. It was only for one night each time, though. But there are plenty of places in easy reach by bus or train. Make sure to try every Picpoul de Pinet wine you can find with shellfish, plus, if you like sweet wines as an aperitif or after dinner, try the various locals Muscats: Muscat de Frontignan, Muscat de Mireval, etc.
