Weather S. France in May

I'm in the early stages of planning a trip driving from Paris to the South. What kind of weather is the norm in early May? Will anything be open on the Riviera? Is it too early in the season? Thanks.

Donna.. I have been there a few times in May and my experience was delightful weather... 70s. Everything that I needed was definitely open. Obviously not too many at the beaches, but some people were there. The Sea is belautiful, the markets are all up and running (which I think happen all year anyway) and a few less tourists and much less heat than in the middle of summer.

Donna, May is my absolute favorite month in the south of France. The wild flowers are in bloom in the hills, it's not too hot to hike, and all the rest TK just mentioned.
