I just came back from Arles and Avignon and it was around 16 celsius, cloudy and a little windy. I did find it very humid though and I had a hard time staying a constant temperature. I had to take a light fleece sweater with me and I was always changing in/out of it.
We stayed in Arles and loved it there. We toured the Arena which was interesting but not a stand out. THe Classical Theatre was under a lot of construction. We took great pictures from a road that ran along it and provided great views inside the complex. St Trophime church is definetley worth checking out. I didn't see any museums/art galleries as I am not to into them. Walking the side streets and enjoying the cafes and people watching is more my thing.
We ate at La Pailotte one night (in Rick's book) and I highly recommend it! Service wasn't too friendly but the food was very good! Couldn't understand the menu, we just pointed to items and had fun finding out what we ordered. La Boheme was also good, but both of us

liked La Paliotte better.
I loved the Palace de Papes tour. It was very informative and interesting. Follow the books instructions regarding the views from Parc des Rochers des Doms. The views are amazing!
I found Provence to be way more laid back then Paris or the French Riviera. The food/wine was cheaper and very good!
I wish I had more time there to explore the other towns as well.
Enjoy your trip!
