Weather in Paris for late Jan - early Feb

We are heading to Paris the end of this month for a week. Anyone know what to expect with the weather? I am struggling what to pack. A rain coat? and can anyone recommend one for cold weather? All the ones I see are light weight.

Mindi, You'll need your winter coat, muffler, hat, gloves, change of shoes if a pair gets wet and umbrella. It's nearly like our Cincinnati/Bloomington weather zone, just ever so slightly milder. It stays between 30-40 that time of year. A raincoat is ok if it has a zip-in lining and you layer with a sweater too.

At the menu page which lists all the topics, the first topic is titled "FAQ's: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions". Click that, and then the 4th item down is weather planning. Click that and put in your dates and place and voila...

I always check the 10 day forecast on the Weather Channel website for cities I'm traveling to. Right now highs in Paris are high 40's, low 50's, with several days of showers. I have been there in Jan and Feb and you need a warm coat or jacket, scarf and waterproof shoes or boots for sure. Perhaps gloves and a hat. Perhaps you can get a lightweight raincoat that will go over a heavier coat, or get a reasonable looking poncho. Definitely bring an umbrella.
Of course you can buy things you need over there also.
