I'm taking my mom to Paris for her 75th and want to go first class all the way. Apartment rental, etc. I think we'll stay in the 7th as close to the Tour Eiffel as possible. I know there's boat tours, e.g. Bateau Bouche and Bateau Parisienne. Since mom has limited mobility, I do intend on taking taxis or buses to many of our destinations. Heck, even the metro has so much walking! I thought that when we go to the Orsay, Lourve, Notre Dame, Ile St. Louis, etc that taking a water taxi service would be a memorable way to get there sometimes. Anyone know is such a service exists?
Also, there's a website for limited mobility persons visiting Europe. If anyone knows the site, please pass along.
Merci beaucoup!
There aren't water taxis in the sense of individual boats for hire. There are hop-on/hop-off boats that cruise up and down the Seine stopping at various sites. But I think those would involve more stairs and walking than you're looking for.
The land ho/ho buses would probably be easier. And regular taxis aren't too expensive.
You are looking for what is called the Batobus
There are eight stops along the Seine - with single or multiple day passes. Note these passes are for the batobus only not metro and other buses. However, there is a combined pass - look under special offers (limited bus stops)
