We did get some heavy rain this weekend, and that has theoretically alleviated the drought somewhat, but all told, we've only received about 20% of a year's average rainfall. The gov't is talking about imposing water restrictions over the summer, there will be fines for excessive usage, etc. Tourists will probably not be effected, but as a gesture of solidarity, you might consider boycotting the golf courses which have be popping up all along the coast.
